Details
A 20ft reefer container, or refrigerated container, is an intermodal shipping containers used for the transportation of temperature-sensitive cargo such as perishable food items, including fresh fruit and meat and frozen products such as ice-cream. Reefers are also used for non-food items such as cut flowers and plants, pharmaceuticals, vaccines and other healthcare products that require a constant chilled or frozen temperature for the duration of the transit.
The temperature control ranges from -40 to +25 Celsius. Reefers feature remote control, monitoring for accurate and reliable temperature and alarms that will indicate any issues with the temperature. 20ft refrigerated containers are built with health and hygiene as priority and the interiors are stainless steel or aluminium. Air curtains are fitted at the container entrance and hermetic sealing drains in each corner mean the interior is kept clean very easily.
Reefers are also used as on-site storage solutions. 20ft refrigerated containers make very cost effective walk-in fridges and freezers or can function as an ambient temperature-controlled store.
