Shipping Container Case Studies
Shipping containers are used for a variety of structures & uses
Think of a shipping container and one instantly imagines large steel boxes piled sky high on a cargo ship. Whilst containers are indeed extensively used for commercial intermodal freight transportation of goods between countries all over the world, they are increasingly used for many more purposes.
At Oceanbox we are heavily involved in the supply of shipping containers to support global trade, working with customers across a diverse range of industries – from food, agriculture and flower wholesalers to automotive manufacturers, construction companies and pharmaceutical companies.
But we also supply used containers to be repurposed for many different applications, from low-cost, low-maintenance homes to mobile clinics, cafés and pop-up shops, storage facilities. Modifying second-hand containers for completely different purposes helps to create a more sustainable and environmentally friendly industry. Just as importantly, they avoid the need to build structures from scratch, which could be cost-prohibitive and require more resources, making them a cost-effective solution and opening up endless opportunities.
KEEPING FLOWERS FRESH AS A DAISY

At Oceanbox we’ve been able to make a real difference to one horticultural business and their supply chain.
